Affirmative Action

It is the policy of the Essex County Schools of Technology to provide equal educational employment opportunities regardless of sex, color, race, religion, ancestry, national origin, age, handicap or social economic status. All inquiries regarding Affirmative Action 504 rehabilitation Act of 1973 for handicapped people or inquiries regarding Title IX of the Educational Amendment of 1972, contact the Affirmative Action Officer. It is the policy of the Essex County Schools of Technology to maintain learning, and working environment that is free from sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is a form of sex discrimination under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, and is prohibited by both federal and state law. It shall be a violation of this policy for any member of the Essex County Schools of Technology district to harass another staff member or student through conduct or communication of a sexual, nature. Complaints of sexual harassment should be forwarded to the Affirmative Action Officer. The Essex County Schools of Technology district affirms its responsibilities to ensure all handicapped people in the Essex County Schools of Technology be given an equal and non-discriminatory opportunity for employment and education regardless of the nature and severity of their handicap.
