Mission Statement
The mission of the Essex County Schools of Technology Library Media Center Program is to provide a welcoming and supportive environment, where students have both the space and resources needed to develop as competent and ethical users of information technologies while maintaining a strong intellectual curiosity and life-long love of reading, learning, and independent thinking. Through collaboration with classroom teachers, our media specialists teach students lessons on academic research, avoiding plagiarism, proper evaluation and documentation of sources, and critical-thinking. Additionally, they promote information and digital literacy to all students, staff and the community and curate collections of print and electronic resources to support the district curriculum and provide students with off-campus access.
